2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 4×4i

The ultimate 4×4 performance king now fuel injected and even better
Kawasaki’s alpha dog Brute Force® 750 4×4i all-terrain vehicle returns for 2008 to terrorize the competition with its awe-inspiring V-twin engine gaining a digital fuel injection system and the chassis receiving a host of updates in the suspension and comfort departments.
Built with adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen in mind, the Brute Force 750 4×4i is wrapped in aggressive bodywork, driven by a powerful V-twin engine and utilizes a fully independent rear suspension (IRS) system. And for 2008 the flagship of the Brute Force line not only gains EFI but also features revised suspension settings, new seat urethane, increased sealed storage, new bumper design, polished wheels, lighter aluminum footpegs, and stronger axle boots. The newest version also now has factory-installed plastic conduit for easy winch installation.
Adding fuel injection to Kawasaki’s largest and most powerful 90-degree, four-stroke V-twin engine, basically gives riders more of a good thing. Now the 749cc, twin Electrofusion-plated aluminum cylinders get fed via 36mm throttle bodies controlled by a 32-bit CPU, which delivers the correct mixture based on coolant temperature, air intake temperature, throttle position, air intake pressure, vehicle speed and crankshaft angle. The reduced spring rate for the throttle return springs and ball bearings in the throttle bodies translates into lighter feel at the throttle lever and less rider fatigue.
Add instantaneous fuel delivery and the engine response from the four valves per cylinder engine is sharper than ever –sure to be a hit with sport riders. The high-pressure fuel pump is located inside the tank and has a unique reservoir chamber at the bottom to help ensure air does not get into the fuel system.
The high-efficiency radiator is mounted high in the chassis where it is best shielded from mud and debris.
The Brute Force 750 4×4i transfers power from its V-twin engine to the wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) featuring high and low range, plus reverse, and by pressing a button on the handlebar, the rider can also select two- or four-wheel-drive operation. In four-wheel-drive mode, the Brute Force utilizes a limited-slip front differential, which eases steering effort under most riding conditions. The rider can also engage the Variable Front Differential Control to deliver torque equally to the right and left front wheels for maximum traction.
The front drive shafts of the Brute Force feature Cardan joints –an industry first. Similar to U-joints, Cardan joints help absorb torque fluctuations to the drive shaft, and its lightweight design helps to reduce vibration. The rear final gear case and sealed rear braking system have been designed in conjunction with the IRS. Smaller and more compact, the gear case is extremely rugged and efficient.
Increased ride comfort on the new Brute Force 750 4×4i doesn’t come at the expense of sport performance. Dual-rate springs for the front and rear suspension permit the best of both worlds. A soft initial rate handles the bumps at slower speeds is followed by a firmer second spring rate that comes into play as the springs are further compressed to handle higher sport speeds. Complimenting the revised suspension settings is new seat urethane that boosts rider comfort to new levels. The seat feels softer initially, but is firm enough to be supportive and provide plenty of comfort for long hours in the saddle.
The Brute Force 750 4×4i utilizes a simple, yet sturdy double-cradle tubular steel frame that features front dual A-arms and IRS. The front dual A-arms have adjustable shocks with 6.7 inches of travel, while the IRS employs a leading torsion bar and provides 7.9 inches of travel. A combination of needle bearings and ball joints in the lower rear A-arms gives the IRS unrivaled suspension action and high stability and excellent rider comfort.
Dual front discs and Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed sealed rear braking system provide maximum stopping power for the Brute Force 750 4×4i. The rear braking system’s internal components are completely sealed to protect them from mud, dust and debris, and its compact size provides for more ground clearance than a conventional rear disc brake system. Enhancing the highly effective braking even further is the engine’s Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which helps slow the ATV under certain conditions.
As if its performance wasn’t enough, the Brute Force 750 4×4i can turn heads with looks alone with its new polished 12-inch wheels and their easily buffed surface and more robust folded lip design. The eye-catching wheels are clad in aggressive tires that help give the ATV its 9.7 inches of ground clearance and transfer the awesome power of the V-twin engine to the ground.
The new look up front is a benefit of the Brute Force’s revised bumper design, which offers a more effective handgrip position for manhandling the big Kawasaki when the need arises. Behind the bumper are the big, strong and tough-looking bodywork and front grille that match the aggressive angular lines of its bodywork. This plastic is made of Thermo-Plastic Olefin (TPO), and has a high-gloss appearance and is scratch-resistant.
Rider position is upright and comfortable, enhancing the rider’s ability to interact with the Brute Force 750 4×4i and scan the horizon and the easy to read automotive-style instrument panel. Other features include the ATV industry’s first four-bulb headlights, and a new waterproof storage box in the left front fender, complementing the storage compartment in the right front fender.
Keeping the weight in check are new aluminum footpegs on the full-sized floorboards and smaller and lighter cargo racks. The new Brute Force ATV also features a subtlety more compact design, with almost one half inch less in width and height than last year’s machine. The chassis balance is further optimized by positioning the large 5.4-gallon fuel tank beneath the revised seat.
It can carry a combined weight of 264 pounds on its cargo racks and has a tow rating of 1,250 pounds.

2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4×4i

Kawasaki’s Brute Force® 650 4×4i ATV is the hidden gem in the Kawasaki family of V-twin powered sport-utility all-terrain vehicles. It combines a plush ride that is a natural outcome of its front and rear independent suspension with the superb qualities of its four-wheel drive and durable and powerful 633cc engine to be a “win-win” for owners.
Thanks to its 90-degree, liquid-cooled four-stroke powerplant, this ATV will shine under the most grueling circumstances in both low-to-mid range and high rpm ranges and will be ready to answer any requests by its target audience of adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen. The engine has a bore and stroke of 80mm x 63mm, linerless aluminum cylinders based on its big brother’s and a lightweight crankshaft.
Less weight is always a good thing, so to keep the pounds off Kawasaki engineers used aluminum in the construction of the front exhaust pipe cover, two-piece center exhaust pipe cover, and the muffler cover. Among the other features designed into the Brute Force 650 4×4i to optimize the power-to-weight ratio are drilled transmission gears to lighten their overall weight.
The chassis has an optimized caster angle for the front A-arms—upper and lower—to provide light and responsive steering as well as excellent ground-following abilities. Shock absorber spring rates and initial preload settings for both front and rear are also set for excellent ride comfort, which was also boosted on the Brute Force 650 4×4i via its softer urethane seat foam cushion.
The Brute Force 650 4×4i gets the power from its V-twin engine transfered to the wheels through a dual range continuously variable transmission (CVT) featuring high, low and reverse. Two- or four-wheel drive is selectable by the rider simply pressing a handlebar-mounted button.
Stopping the 650 4×4i are dual 200mm front discs and an enclosed wet multi-plate rear brake system. The able ATV has a towing capacity of a hefty 1,250 pounds, and it can carry a combined 264 pounds on its front and rear racks.
It may be the slightly smaller one in Kawasaki’s stable of IRS-equipped ATVs, but it doesn’t sacrifice anything in the “looks” department. Like its brethren, the Brute Force 650 4×4i sports a rugged, take-on-anything appearance with a front guard design that will both attract onlookers and satisfy owners. It can be clad in Woodsman Green, Super Black, Sunbeam Red, Candy Thunder Blue or Realtree Hardwoods Green® HD™ camouflage.

2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4×4

A strong, tough and able ATV in a practical package
This category offers enthusiasts some nice big-bore all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) with single-cylinder engines and four-wheel drive, but the Brute Force® 650 4×4 offers just a little bit more. It comes with Kawasaki’s legendary V-twin engine, a proven 4×4 system and rugged angular looks — and does it for about the same price.
Powering the Brute Force 650 4×4 is Kawasaki’s highly praised liquid-cooled 633cc, 90-degree V-twin engine with single overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. It is fed by dual 32mm Keihin carburetors that draw fresh air from a snorkel intake located high in the frame near the steering head. These powerplant features add up to provide the rider with industry-leading torque and smooth-running operation unmatched by the competition.
From the V-twin engine, power flows through Kawasaki’s much-acclaimed fully automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). With low and high forward, neutral and reverse gears, this dependable transmission functions seamlessly, providing excellent control for both low- and high-speed work or recreational riding. Plus, the Brute Force 650 4×4 can also be started in any gear when the brakes are applied.
Complementing the CVT is a switch on the right handle bar that permits the rider to switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive operation, and power is delivered to the wheels via dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive. In normal four-wheel drive mode, the front wheels provide extra traction for adverse terrain, while the limited-slip differential allows the rider to make tight turns and reduces steering effort.
Best of all, the Brute Force 650 4×4 includes Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control, a favorite feature often praised by editors of the leading ATV magazines. By pulling a small lever on the left handlebar, the rider can deliver equal amounts of power to both front wheels, a definite advantage for riders encountering deep mud and slippery uphill trails or when traversing over large objects such as logs or rocks.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 braking system is another example of cutting-edge Kawasaki design. Dual front disc brakes with dual-piston calipers are matched to Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. As an integrated part of the shaft drive, the rear braking system is sealed in the aluminum swingarm where it operates in an oil bath. This protects the brake pads from mud, dust and debris, and is virtually maintenance-free.
Enhancing the high-performance brakes is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system, which electronically monitors ground speed and uses the engine’s compression to help slow the Brute Force ATV under certain conditions.
Plush and controlled rides are the Kawasaki 4×4 ATVs’ forte and the Brute Force 650 4×4 exemplifies this tradition. It does this with MacPherson strut suspension with 6.7 inches of travel up front and an aluminum swingarm featuring a preload adjustable shock with a piggy-back reservoir and 7.2 inches of travel handles the rear suspension duties.
Additional comfort is provided by a large saddle and adjustable footpegs mounted atop full-size floorboards. To help reduce unsprung weight and further enhance the smooth ride, the Brute Force rolls on aluminum wheels.
With its modern, aggressively angled lines complemented by cat-eye headlights, the bodywork is made from Thermo-Plastic Olefin, which has an ultra-high gloss appearance and is scratch-resistant.
Other features include front and rear steel racks that can carry a total of 264 pounds of cargo, and a tow hitch so it can tow up to 1,250 pounds. Kawasaki engineers also provided space inside the front guard so it can accommodate a 3000-pound capacity winch from Warn or Superwinch.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 comes with fully digital instrumentation, including speedometer, odometer, dual resettable trip meters, clock, hour meter, fuel gauge and 2×4/4×4 indicators. There is also a DC power outlet to provide quick and easy power for electrical accessories.

While the competition sells some nice big-bore all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) with single-cylinder engines and four-wheel drive, the Brute Force™ 650 4×4 comes with Kawasaki’s legendary V-twin engine, a leading-edge 4×4 system and angular good looks for about the same price.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 is powered by Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed liquid-cooled 633cc, 90-degree V-twin engine featuring single overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. It is fed by dual 32mm Keihin carburetors drawing fresh air from a snorkel intake located high in the frame near the steering head. Together, these powerplant features provide the rider with industry-leading torque and smooth-running operation unmatched by the competition.
Power is then transferred to Kawasaki’s much-acclaimed fully automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). With high or low forward gears, plus neutral and reverse, this proven transmission functions seamlessly, providing excellent control for both low- and high-speed work or recreational riding. Plus, the Brute Force 650 4×4 can also be started in any gear, provided the brakes are applied.
Complementing the CVT is a switch on the right handle bar that gives the rider a choice of either two-wheel or four-wheel drive operation, and power is delivered to the wheels by dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive. In normal four-wheel drive mode, the front wheels provide extra traction for adverse terrain, while the limited-slip differential allows the rider to make tight turns and reduces steering effort.
As expected, the Brute Force 650 4×4 includes Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control, a favorite feature often praised by editors of the leading ATV magazines. By pulling a small lever on the left handlebar, the rider can deliver equal amounts of power to both front wheels, a definite advantage for riders encountering deep mud and slippery uphill trails or when traversing over large objects such as logs or rocks.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 braking system also benefits from leading-edge Kawasaki design.
Working in conjunction with the high-performance brakes is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system, which electronically monitors ground speed and uses the engine’s compression to help slow the ATV.
Kawasaki’s 4×4 ATVs have a well-deserved reputation for providing smooth, comfortable rides and the Brute Force 650 4×4 carries on this tradition. MacPherson strut front suspension with 6.7 inches of travel grace the front end, while the aluminum swingarm rear suspension features a fully adjustable spring, piggy-back reservoir and 7.2 inches of travel.
Additional comfort is provided by a large saddle and adjustable footpegs mounted atop full-size floorboards. To help reduce unsprung weight and further enhance the smooth ride, the Brute Force rides on aluminum wheels.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 is wrapped in tough-looking bodywork styled after its bigger sibling, the Brute Force 750 4×4i.
Kawasaki engineers also provided space inside the front guard so it can accommodate a Warn 3000 winch or Super Winch 3000.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 comes with fully digital instrumentation, including speedometer, odometer, dual resettable trip meters, clock, hour meter, fuel gauge and 2×4/4×4 indicators. There is also a DC power outlet.
As with all off-highway vehicle recreation, Kawasaki encourages ATV riders to ride responsibly and to respect the environment. Kawasaki will pay first-time buyers of a new Kawasaki ATV $100 for completing an ATV rider safety course conducted by the ATV Safety Institute (ASI). Interested consumers can call ASI toll-free at 800-887-2887.

ALL-NEW BRUTE FORCE™ 650 4X4i BRINGS INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION QUALITIES TO ANOTHER KAWASAKI ATV
IRS and V-twin power make this unit a sure winner.
Kawasaki’s introduction of the new Brute Force™ 650 4×4i ATV has been smoothed by the tremendous success achieved by its slightly larger brethren, the Brute Force 750 4×4i. This economical new addition to the Kawasaki family of V-twin powered sport-utility all-terrain vehicles couples the luxurious ride inherent with front and rear independent suspension and the qualities of this durable and powerful 633cc engine.
Offering virtually the same power characteristics as the 750 4×4i, this new ATV entry will shine under the most grueling circumstances in both low-to-mid range rpm and high rpm ranges. The 90-degree, liquid-cooled four-stroke powerplant will be there to answer any needs posed by its target audience of adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen.
The engine features a bore and stroke of 80mm x 63mm, linerless aluminum cylinders based on its big brother’s, and an all-new lightweight crankshaft.
Helping to lighten the load, engineers have used aluminum to replace steel in the construction of the front exhaust pipe cover, new two-piece center exhaust pipe cover, and the muffler cover. Transmission gears in the Brute Force 650 4×4i feature holes to lighten the overall weight and several other minor changes have been introduced to optimize the power-to-weight ratio.
Its new chassis has a revised caster angle for the front A-arms—upper and lower—resulting in light and responsive steering as well as excellent ground-following abilities. Shock absorber spring rates and initial preload settings for both front and rear have been revised to improve ride comfort. Riding comfort was also considered when this unit was slated for a seat using a softer urethane foam cushion.
The Brute Force 650 4×4i transfers power from its V-twin engine to the wheels through a dual range continuously variable transmission (CVT) featuring high, low, and reverse. The rider can select two- or four-wheel drive by simply pressing a handlebar-mounted button
Stopping the 650 4×4i are dual 200mm front discs and an enclosed wet multi-plate rear brake system. Its towing capacity is a hefty 1,250 pounds, and it will carry a combined 264 pounds on its front and rear racks.
It may be the slightly smaller one in Kawasaki’s stable of IRS-equipped ATVs, but it doesn’t sacrifice anything in the “looks” department. Designers gave the Brute Force 650 4×4i a rugged, take-on-anything type of appearance with a new front guard design that will both attract onlookers and satisfy owners. It will come cloaked in either Woodsman Green, Aztec Red, or Realtree Hardwoods Green® HD™ camouflage.

Engine
- 633cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled V-twin
- All-aluminum cylinders with Electrofusion(KP) coating are durable and help the engine produce more power. The aluminum bores eliminate cast iron cylinders liners to improve heat dispersion and reduce weight.
- V-twin design and oversquare bore and stroke help produce high torque with a broad, user-friendly curve.
- 90-degree cylinder offset produces perfect primary balance to minimize vibration for rider comfort.
4-Valve Cylinder Head (KP)
- Intake ports designed to provide a straight fuel path from the carburetors for improved efficiency and more power.
- 4 valves provide maximum valve area for optimal flow.
- Boosts low-end torque.
Twin Downdraft Carburetors
- Twin CVKR-34 carburetors are 2mm larger than the Brute Force 650 4×4 and are now mounted in a downdraft position, providing the fuel mixture with a straight shot into the combustion chamber.
